You can pawn off a gold bar for... 5,500 Poké, if memory serves? That always made me think that gold isn't actually worth that much in the PMD games. That, or all the shop owners are a bunch of scammers since, for example, a TM can set you back 8,000. A bar of solid gold is worth less than a one-time-use disk with a move on it. Still baffles me.
Maybe they could get a better deal off capturing that villain on the reward poster...
