Assuming we are talking about the object at the base of the dragons neck, then I will have to politely disagree. If you look closely enough, the object is drawn as being a circular shape with two lines being splayed apart the closer to the neck they get much the same way string/cord would on a necklace. If it were a weapon then it wouldn't be represented in such a manner (it also wouldn't make any sense why a weapon would be stuck in the dragon unless it stabbed completely through the bone as there is not flesh to keep it stuck :/ ). It is kinda hard to see unless you pay close attention to detail due to the ribs behind the artifact's string/cord. Next time pay attention to how the dragon is drawn, it doesn't really look like it died violently for example. More like it died of age or something in its sleep because it couldn't leave its beloved treasure. It may just be the art, but the setting is secluded, still has mountains of loot (come on, what self respecting dragon slaying adventurer wouldn't take the gold after his deed?), with no bones of any other victims.
You make several valid points,
Verathorn. I must concede. I was thrown off by the bones behind the necklace. When I zoomed in to figure out whether it was amulet or sword/pointy object, the lines tricked my eyes, making it appear like some sort of weapon to me, rather than jewelry. On closer examination, I must agree with you; it is most definitely an amulet of some kind.
