You who are not mine dare summon ME, she said
You fools who dare to overstep My Chosen
You who drink from the blood of the stones
You who should beg forgiveness for your thefts
And they trembled and fell on the ground
And I stood, I stood
Under Her burning eye, I stood
They fell and whispered and remembered omens of Power
I stood
I do not come for your pretty summoning, O false-tongued Man
The petitions of the wretched are louder to Our ears
To My Beloveds I speak, Witness, and carry word.
And they took their hands from the spear
They stared at the vision they could not banish
This is not how it is supposed to go, they said
This has never happened before
And I stood in the green-gray wind
A storm is coming, she said.
She raised the spear, and I tasted the tempest
Gather your tribe, she said.
