Master Grade 1/100 Char's Zaku II
Here he is, folks! :) The Master Grade 1/100 Char's Zaku II Bandai model kit! :) Sorry that the pose I put him in for this picture isn't exactly dynamic looking. I still need to order a 1/100 action stand. Anyway, I like Char's mobile suits because each of them has a red paintjob, and red has always been one of my favorite colors. 😊 I got this kit on Amazon for only $30, which is pretty good for a Master Grade kit. It isn't poor quality, either. This is a really nice kit! :) If you've ever built a Master Grade kit before, this kit won't be too hard to assemble. In the fact, the only parts that I had trouble with were the tubes on the head, body, and legs. You have to slide each segment onto the pipe piece one at a time, and getting them out of the sprew (or whatever you like to call it) was such a pain! >.< The ones on the legs are a bit easier, though, and instead of pipe pieces, the tubes on the leg use a long metal spring pieces. I know it sounds silly when you imagine it, but trust me, it works out really well. :) Other than that, this is a really fun kit to build, and it looks awesome once its all put together. :) I also really like that the eye is designed to turn on its own when you turn the head. There's a small two gear system in the head that lets the eye move in whatever direction you turn the head. :)
In total, it took me about six hours to build this kit (I get in the zone when I'm building things XD). I didn't build it the night that it came in the mail because I was feeling too sick at the time, but the next morning, I realized I was feeling better than I was the other night, so I cracked open this bad boy's box, and got right to work building it. :D It would have taken less than six hours to finish, but I accidentally put the piece in the upper body that the balljoint on the lower body attaches to in upside down. ^^; So I had to go back and take apart most of the upper body section in order to get to that piece and get it put in correctly. You guys may notice that I didn't use the clear visor piece that goes in front of the eye. The reason for that is because I decided to paint the eye instead of using the decal, and paint ended up getting on the clear visor. So I just to heck with it, I'll just have the head on mine look like the smaller Zaku kits. The cockpit does open, and while I put the little Char figure in there, you can only see the figure's legs when you open the cockpit. It's still neat to know that he's in there, right? :D
