I love how this turned out. Like all of my pictures, there are a few things that I am unhappy about, I'll be damned if I didn't outdo myself.
The background is actually something that I sketched about a month ago, but decided that it went perfect with the previous picture of my character posing (it's also why the perspective might seem a bit off). But oh my god... bricks and cobblestones... ugh...

EDIT: While drawing this, my Photoshop went non responsive on me... Luckily, I saved it about 15 minutes before this happened, but I thought I just had to redo the trees. But, I lost the grass on the other side.
I fixed this though, so refresh.

I really, really like how you did the aror. It looks so shiny! *_*
The background indeed looks like it was tedious to do, and it looks good, but, like it should, the picture is focused on Slate, and he looks damn good, dood.
Some criticism would be the castle's colours look a little strange and blurry, but other than that, GoodFuckinJob.
