This is a Chilean myth about the dog of the tree
Some lumberjacks talk about something run away from inside the tree trunks in the middle of their works, a small creature, it looks like a dog with a short and black hair with a pinkish skin.

This animal lives in an oval chamber with smooth walls in there is isolate of the air and soil, it feeds on the sap of the tree where it parasite. Once the lumberjack cracks the chamber with her ax, the animal run away, dying after a while, because the air it is toxic for it.

This myth is very popular, making the superstition of who find one of this animals they will become rich and will have a long life.
