"The MA-124-9, or "Hunter Gamma No. 9" was an attempt to rectify the initial weaknesses of the original MA-124 "Hunter" series. Previously, the MA-124 "Hunter Gamma" model could only withstand short periods of time in areas without bodies of water present, making it useless for deployment in dry or arid environments. Unlike its water-restricted cousin, the MA-124-9 has an improved biology that allows it to remain in areas where large bodies of water are not present. This allows the creature to hunt in virtually any environment. The strange head crest appears to be a growth of some kind from multiple genetic engineering attempts, but it does not falter the creature in any manner. We have used it as a distinguishing feature to tell it apart from other MA-124's. Another improvement is the extendable tongue, which was implemented from a previously-failed experiment, the Lurker. It can ensnare targets, dragging them helpless into its awaiting jaws. Feeding sessions have revealed that it is an opportunistic hunter, using stealth to its advantage before attacking its prey. It's digestive system is quite effective at disposing of complete bodies, making it highly efficient in leaving no trace of the victim. Even bones and nails dissolve in its highly corrosive stomach acids. Its intelligence also is improved upon, and several Umbrella staff have noted its learning abilities. One such case has even reported that it found out how to escape its enclosure. It ate two staff before being tranquilized and taken back to its habitat. Only one has been produced so far, and it is highly recommended that no more are to be produced until further study. Treat with extreme caution, and make sure that no less than four guards stand by with the research team in case of another escape attempt."
