Endless Realms bestiary - Malkuth
Bestiary artwork for Endless Realms, a D&D-like "pen and paper" fantasy RPG I'm working for.
Perhaps inspired by the somewhat horrific and unconventional appearance of the Apollyon demon I did, the art director requested an angel along similar lines - eerie, faceless, and feminine, with slender blade-like fingers and featuring a large, prominently creepy mask along with a number of masks as parts of its body. I wondered to myself what sort of angel might this be, and I settled on doing a take on Malkuth, the godly emanation that reflects facets of mortal creation - perhaps she's a sort of chaos angel capable of taking on any persona required for the task at hand, and is able to read or reflect the minds of others at will? We'll have to wait and see what the team ends up with ;)
Also, I'm aware this ended up resembling MtG's Elesh Norn quite a bit, although if anything, I avoided looking at any images of Elesh Norn and instead tried to draw inspiration from the wonderful Angelarium creations. One of Malkuth's symbols is the pentacle, and I wanted to have her mask be somewhat abstractly star-shaped - however, this led to her having the iconic downward-swooping triangular shape of Elesh Norn, so after looking her up and seeing how similar they ended up being, I had to get rid of it :b

Malkuth? Is that the 10th sephira of the Tree of Life?
nice naming, considering that malkuth represent all of the matterial world and/or kingdom in other words, the "faces" of mortal realm, it's only befitting for a multi-faced being to have that name
it would be cool if each face is an aspect of it's own, but I guess that's just overcomplicated
Awesome design, nevertheless
