Or "Майский жук" - "May Beetle" as it called in Russia.

Found these fellas together with
Lingrimm again. Melolonthas are cute beetles although it's quite sad their life is very short.

Wait are they fluffy? In America, at least in Texas they are way more disgusting and look like this https://nature.mdc.mo.gov/sites/def.....?itok=ukwL0oTq
But yeah those are not hideous roach like swarms I have killed by the thousands just by making a campfire. And yes I do mean "swarms" I have counted 1,200 in my pouch in one day. Yeah, twelve hundred all dead after two days of crashing against my bars lights.

They look a lot cuter than the ones I've seen in Michigan, too! And that linked photo looks like at least some of ours, although I suspect we don't get the swarms you get down south. (Also, we call them June bugs, probably due to climatic differences as much as anything!)
It's a big genus. Are there any beetle genera that aren't big...?

Same we call the mass swarm is brought on by both light and garbage and gathered around a dumpster used by like 10 business we also call them June bugs and the only "soft" bug I can think of is a moth. By the way, did you know if you drip was on the wings of a roach so it can fly it will suffocate? They breathe out of their backs so it kills them if you do that but not if you behead them, at least not necessarily
It's pretty standard for insects to respirate out of their abdomens, and I'm sure there is quite a bit of variation as to where spiracles are located on a given insect species. (They're incredibly varied as a class.) It would probably take more than a drip of water to drown a cockroach, though...
^w^ we have something similar here in Pennsylvania,Usa. We call them June bugs or May beetles. :D
