This is Roseo, a pun on Romeo ofc, and the rose growing in him is actually a parasite that grows as it wishes with only just enough mind not to kill its host. Obviously the growing and bursting out of him causes Roseo a great deal of pain, but the petals of the parasite is an all around remedy for pain if brewed into teas or scents, so in order to help others he doesn't try to get rid of it. He requires a lot of pruning.
