This is Sarasa, a swan-girl ballerina. She was inspired by characters in an episode of Tiny Toon Adventures titled "Loon Lake". I originally created her as a friend for Shirley the Loon (in contrast to the rather mean swan girls in "Loon Lake"). Since then, she's taken on a life of her own and, in turn, inspired another character, Tina Ballerina.
For a while I had no name for this character. Then, one night, I saw her name in a dream. Even more interesting, it turns out that "sarasa" is a Hindu word for "swan".

Well, she's got cute legs! :) Regarding the meaning of 'sarasa' in Spanish, well, uhm, it's got another, totally different thing, you know.
Thanks for the compliment, and for the heads-up on 'sarasa'. My dreams should be subtitled in Hindu AND Spanish! :) Likewise, the original name for my character Louise Lapine was going to be Louise La Piné, but I discovered that "La Piné" has a similarly embarrassing translation in French (according to Babelfish).
The day after I had my dream, I did a web search and found Sarasa on a list of Indian names for girls (it is a word in Malayalam, a language spoken by about 36 million people in southern India). I still think it is an interesting coincidence. And I found yet another defninition:
"The name Sarasa is derived from a combination of Saraswathi, the Hindu goddess of art and culture, and the poetic sanscrit word rasa denoting the essence of sound."
I sort of like the Hindu goddess part.

I am utterly delighted with both the charming character, the dream story and the meaning of her name.
I had a similar experience, regarding my tale 'The Golden Swan' A dear friend of mine, to whom the tale is dedicated, is a swan fan through and through. She sent me photos of a mutant variety of the Australian black swan, whom it's called 'Silver Swan'; mischiefly, I asked her if she knew anything about golden swans. She answered that no... and the rest is history.
I remember fondly that TTA adventures and I myself had a similar idea, somebody that helped Shirley to give those mean girls a lesson...the problem was that the list of candidate species began to resemble the contents of the NY Natural History Museum, the Smithsonian collections and Noah's Ark, all together!
An alternative I thought was that Shirley has her revenge when the ballerina proposes her to perform at the theatre but not with Swan Lake, but with a pas-de-deux piece (more accurately, 'Music Box dancer, a fav of mine); just imagining the faces of that evil trio was a real delight!
BTW, did you see an episode of Babar where a talented dancer visits the elephants (an ostrich) but, for the dismay of Babar's friend, the dancer is a real basilisk?
About your piece, can't imagine a more deliciously sweet creature than Sarasa; congratulations!
If I had done her, though, I'd have used a monopiece instead of that suit, by one single, powerful reason: I am a disaster zone drawing that kind of skirts (or almost any clothing!) I also like how you worked her neck (mine always resemble herons, can't get the knack of it!) And the beak! OMG! Why birds have beaks?!? My other 'Achilles heel', I never get a satisfactory beak.
Nevertheless, you did so admirably.
Know that in Colombia you have a loyal fan and admirer and (if you concede me the honor) a friend.
Hope to see more of your art and delicious ballerinas.
