This is the wolf skull from Alaska that I just happen
to have in my possession. It was found
in the wild, so it's not some lab-perfect, bleached
item ruined by humanity. It has all kinds of character,
and soul... I hold this skull very close to my heart.

How big is it? From this angle -- and the whole lack of seeing it and holding it in 3D -- it looks like a bear skull. It could just be the angel of the photo, but it looks brawnier than a wolf skull and the largeness and straight-arrangement of the front teeth keep making me think bear.

Heh heh, naw, it's not quite bear-sized (well, maybe a small bear...) The skull is about 10" from end to end, and it's wolf. If it were a bear it would have grinding molars in place of the shearing ones this skull has. The teeth don't line up very well due to being out in the elements and parts of the skull splitting/expanding, but it is still a nice specimen with all of it's teeth.

But I totally see what you mean now that I look at this photo objectively. It really doesn't look too wolfish at that angle! xD

Thanks. :) It's a bit out of focus, but I think I captured the 'feel' I was going for anyways. :P

I think the fact that it is slightly out of focus helps to capture that feel you were going for. you captured it very well. and that's why i like it.
