Actually, a Spellblade can create transparent parts that would still be strong as steel. And flexible. Hell, the entire armour can turn transparent. Or mimic the colours around it like a chameleon. Oh, and the helmet also can filter air to protect the user from poisons and allow to stay underwater for prolonged time.
