I'll do my best to return to doing daily hour (or more) paintings, so here I kick it off! I'm thinking of adding some lore-tidbits or mini stories to them, so if you're into that.. yay? Hah anyways
This one took 2hrs 40m
___
Mudizs - All types of humans
Kan - Sentient ferals like dragons, wyverns and other monsterlike by appearance.
Mudkans - In Torgua they are that what we would consider anthro. As seen by Torgians, sentient animals that walk like men. Used to be hated and hunted, but as civilization evolved, they started to be accepted in most parts. The western areas are the only ones still repressing them.
Geneia is an empire in the west - northwest of Torgua. In majority it consists of mostly hot and dry biomes, the most important one being the desert one, which has the capital of the empire, Qhesaq.
The desert is full of tiny rivers and springs, Qhesaq was built around the largest river - Vini. The farm life flourishes in herding and gaining resources from all sorts of cacti and other durable plants. For example, from just one type of cacti the farmers forage nectar from the blooming flowers, gather dried up petals, forage the the fruit that forms later on, and along the whole process gather the large needles and occasionally cactus juice.
The farms themselves are worked by all, be it kan, mudizs or mudkan, however a mudkan won't be able to own a farm, instead they work the field. It's a tough job, but it is the job most mudkan of the west strive to get. It may be difficult, but it's away from the dangerous slums of Qhesaq, and farmers are generally respected for their contribution to the society.
In the painting you can see a male mudkan farmer in basic silk clothes enjoying the calmness after some hard work, as well as cacti in their cycle of bloom, and the capital Qhesaq in the distance.
