EDIT: I'm not sure what's up with the black background, it's supposed to be transparent. I'll have to fix that later.
EDIT EDIT: Fixed. It's an issue with how Krita implements ffmpeg while rendering the animation. I did it the hard way as a workaround; export all the frames as layers into GIMP and then used GIMP to compile it as an animation.
In teaching myself how to use Krita (runs excellently on a linux laptop), I created a new animated avatar for myself. This little fella is loosely inspired by the pet drones the Avali use in Starbound (both the drone pets and the Avali species are community-created mods for Starbound).
It's actually related to some self-teaching I'm doing for Blender, too, which I call the "Blenderbot" series. Since I haven't used blender in so long, there's a lot of rust to sand off. The point is to design and then create a series of short-project robots of varying shapes and increasing levels of complexity, each one acting as a study for different properties and workflow methods in Blender. It also doubles as a decent warmup for general art, including animation and pixel-art styles.
