Finished writing the piece I started last week. Still minor fixes to make and whatnot, but the general idea is finished and ready to be logged away for finalizing at a later date :P I finally utilized Reason for the first time using the Thor sequencer and the Malstrom synth with arpeggiator. Can't get the midi data on those 2 things to record in Logic, however, so mic'd my monitors and recorded them as regular audio files. the lyrics through the vocoder are:
Stay where you belong
stay right here with me
stay where you belong
Stay where you belong
you're safe right here with me
stay where you belong
stay where you belong, stay where you belong, etc. to fade out
Stay where you belong
stay right here with me
stay where you belong
Stay where you belong
you're safe right here with me
stay where you belong
stay where you belong, stay where you belong, etc. to fade out

Yo dude! As a newb, I'm not sure how much a critique from me can help you... but, if seriously asked, I'm always willing to throw out ideas and see if they do any good/make any cool, creative sparks. Just hope you like visual references/explanations, cause I never learned the lingo. ;)
I really do dig the concepts swimming around in this one. I agree that the intro could be condensed a bit, but I hear promise in the synth... mebbe if it had another growly/gruff-sounding instrument to balance it against the thinner/smoother sounding ones?? A dirtier bass/harmony might help there... or just a quicker/quirkier bass beat to bounce off the synth's natural beat? *ponders* It would give something else for the listener to focus on too, and not get lost in the repetition. You can have one beat through an entire tune, as long as you keep the listener's attention elsewhere... like slight-of-hand, but for the ear.
The guitar's tune is sweeet, but feels weak in places... either too distant/quiet or too... I dunno... thin. I almost want a real quiet synth or orchestra line to harmonize with it a little, and give it some richness/standing/power. Having the vocoder voice float low around in there a bit earlier might be a way to add some dimensionality to it... and make the voice seem more a part of the entire piece, and more than just a closing.
Can't wait to hear what you do with it next!
