I did the sketch for this picture a couple of years ago to kill time at a convention and it was well received! Then it's just taken me two years to finally paint it, after poking at some thumbnails. Despite that planning I just winged the painting part, choosing which colours just came to me. I experimented by using Brusho (an inky powder you add water to for watercolour like effects) and some highlights of silver leaf! Now I need to think of other paintings I could use both of these on in the near future.
