Ezra Hayes was living comfortably as the Chief Engineer of a large steamship, until one fateful day his ship sinks to the bottom of the sea. Ezra finds himself rescued by a pod of merfolk, but to save his life they must turn him into one of their own. It's a transformation that takes several weeks, but in the end Ezra finds himself happier than he'd ever been on land.
