So this ship design has a portal underside the ship. the plainsview was a hydrofoil. for those of you who dont know what a hydrofoil is, it is a boat whose hull is fitted underneath with shaped vanes (foils) that lift the hull clear of the water to increase the boat's speed. this port hole was right in front of the port side pylon, the pylon would lower into the water before ship could get left.
