Honestly i'm still not sure I see what you mean? But if it looks stretched then I would blame the website for that more than anything perhaps?
To answer your question, customers DO get a MUCH higher res file, while my websites here get a simple 72 DPI 'fuzzy' low res look (to avoid theft as best as I can). However if you are still anxious for a commission, I do have options for you:
1.) I offer for every commission a 'pay half now and half later policy,' so if you're really unsure, you don't have to pay the full price right away.
2.) I always show the customer the 'in progress images to look over.' For instance, you see the sketch before I start inking, and the inks before I begin coloring ect. This is done so that you, as a customer, are completely satisfied with your work on every level and we can fix mistakes early on. However, these 'in progress' images are sent in a low resolution format for security purposes, but in your case if you REMIND me about this I would be more than happy to send over the high res inks when/if we get to that stage in a commission. Just in case it doesn't have the look you want.
3. I only do refunds during the inking stage at the LATEST! Colors can be altered if you aren't satisfied, but only a partial refund is allowed if you don't care for the final piece.
To be fair, I am an artist with a bit of a 'loose' style. I'm not the type of person who will stipple every brick, so if you're looking for someone more meticulous sadly you may have to look elsewhere. However, I hope that I've helped alleviate your fears a little.
The best I can do to show a 'high res' image on THIS site would be this post here:

As it is of a higher resolution than most of the things I post here (so it might give you an idea as to the final product). Thanks for asking!
