One of my ongoing sagas, this one is Cosmic Cruiser Ho-Oh. After years of watching/loving Battlestar Galactica and Starblazers, I wanted to create my own version using pokemon. Here’s a pin-up of some of the main members of the crew facing off against the bio-organic scourge the Regi. Done back in 2011.

I could see that. I'm actually still working on the mechas, since robotics is not usually something I draw at all. I might go for a simpler Ar-wing concept of smaller, simpler crafts for the squadron pilots, but not sure yet. No thoughts on combining them into a bigger one though! :P
Being that this is a ways in the future, science and medicine have come a long way, however, since we're talking about these folks being aboard a space cruiser, oxygen is something of a commodity and smoking could be incredibly dangerous. That said! My Herdier, Hagin, the ship's lead mechanic does have a hidden supply of cigars that he smokes anyway, in private.
It was one up on my tumblr that I'll repost here. He is a gruff and surly old mechanic who absolutely has to be dominated behind closed doors! ;) It's a picture of him and his young Rockruff boyfriend taking care of business. I'll try to put it up here before too long.

I know you said, Battlestar Galactica and Starblazers inspired you to do this, but in a way, it makes me think of Star Fox as well. Probably because Ethan looks like Pepper. XD
