I have my own, evil, variation on this.
Many many years ago, our family had a dog. The dog loved food (oddly enough).
So one day, I took my slingshot and a handful of dry dog kibbles to a convenient second-floor window. The dog was in the garden below, along with some trees.
And, one by one, I loaded dog food kibbles into my slingshot -- then launched them into the trees. The kibbles would hit a leaf or a branch, then fall into the backyard -- where Dog found them.
In a short while, the poor dog was looking up at the trees, beggingly, convinced that trees were the source of dog treats.
