If I remember right I was thinking about this while someone was talking about how to score diving, or ice skating, or gymnastics, or a lot of other events where people are left wondering about what the judges saw or didn't see...I wanted to capture some of that confusion and mystery, and wrote more about that than the actual sport I suppose.

Not so much trapped as limited by my own sense of self control. There'll always be things and places I won't go, at least not with this account.
I think its more that I find myself limiting who I read here. A while ago I read something that caused me to make a resolution in controlling what I exposed myself to. I came to realize I couldn't continue to improve as a writer if I kept reading stories from those that weren't even trying. This is another one of yours that causes me to try that much harder to improve, just to keep up.
