Basic little story where JT agrees to be Gemie's magic taste-tester on a boring night. Mostly just to get back in the writing spirit.
Fun fact: I wrote most of this at 5 a.m. on the first train out of NYC after a sleepless night. So if there are any errors... that would be why

they're going to be in stories together, definitely. as an item? idk. feels kinda Ruby Sparks of me to create a character and then set her up as a love interest for my self-insert. but i do like playing around with them, they have complementary personalities and i can probably whip up some fun stuff.
it's a movie from a few years ago where an author is writing a novel and writes his dreamgirl into the book as his main character, and then she appears in real life and things get weird. you can tell i overthink everything, ever, but i use it as a reminder (in general) that it's better to write what feels natural than to force what i want into the story.
It's always pissed me off that Metro North doesn't run all night, so if you miss the last train out at 2AM you'll be stuck there waiting for hours until they start up again. Like how hard would it really be to just run one train an hour? I wonder if they shut the whole thing down so they can kick out the homeless people sleeping in Grand Central.
and i was going to harlem/125th! i had to take a $19 lyft from my friends' place to the station because i wasn't about to be extremely white and walk a mile through harlem's not-best parts at 5 a.m. i was going to catch the last train, but the party ended too late for me to make it.
its not as bad as all that you know, I've done that plenty of times before and never felt in danger. You just have to keep your head about you and pay attention to your surroundings so you don't walk into anything you didn't want to. Don't go down any dark alleys, and if you see something you don't like then turn around and find another way.
