Super Pillow Fighter Turbo Lingerie Edition
From Anthrocon 2008, a sketchbook art trade with
roochak.
The theme: Characters in their undies.
A little bit of brainstorming in the Zoo produced this action pose of Tina almost flipping the bed over in a superhuman effort to get a First Strike in. I liked how I was able to get two "lines of action" in her pose, drawing two distinct arcs through her body--one from her head to her toes, the other from the top of the pillow to the tip of her tail. The idea of dimming the room and backlighting her only came tonight as I finally broke the mental logjam of how to color the backdrop. Since I've gotten a little better at things since last summer, I made some fixes in the scan I recieved.
Digital changes from the original pencils include:
--Straightening the lines of the background objects
--Additional detail on the bed headboard
--Additional volume and detail to Tina's hair, including fine strands at the ends of her bangs
--Shrinking the pupils and irises of her eyes, converting the pupils to colored ones instead of plain black
--More cleavage :)
--Slightly less cameltoe :) but with a deeper dip in the rise of her panties
--Rounded and widened her hips
--Redrawing the frills outlining her top and bottom
This project was rather lightweight on data, clocking in at only 30MB in the uncompressed image. One probable reason is the image consists of only two layers--one the character and backdrop, the other a full-page shadow containing airbrushed cutouts for everything lit by the lamp. That and the scan was a little smaller than I usually make them, but it didn't affect the finished piece any.

Lovely - the two arcs you mentioned give a great sense of movement and impending pillow-doom.
I've been meaning to ask you about using Tina in one of my stories for... quite a while now (just about since I started watching you!) I'll PM you with details when I get up the courage to do it :)
