This is a project that I started years ago and have recently dug out of its box to finish sewing. My first monster tail, complete with quilted scale-plates along the bottom and an embroidered flesh base.
The blue stripes are hand-sewn luxury shag, the quilted plates are spandex, and the embroidered flesh base is fleece.
This took well over 40 hours of sewing and problem solving, but I'm pretty pleased with the outcome.
