I felt like writing something to help cope with my depression. Thank you for those who read fully.
Vogal are a race of bird people who I made up for a Dungeons and Dragons campaign, they live in their own plane and many to all know very little about the normal D&D world (with all the different races). They have wings for arms and five long finger like feathers which also act like fingers. This is just a small story I made up while trying to cope with depression. I hope the few people who read this enjoy it, and if not, then I still thank you for reading. I hope to be able to add a picture of the race when I have time to draw. This is also going to only a story and little to no dialogue, however I may rewrite this with dialogue at another point in time.
Virinn had taken up a job in an ancient city high up in the mountains, she was nearly overjoyed at the amount of pay she would receive, which was exactly 10,000 Platinum Pieces. Virinn was known to be one of the most beautiful dancers in the plane, with an equally beautiful voice, she was a regular at taverns and had only performed in them, but never for any large events. Due to the size of the listed event, she was just about overwhelmed to an equal point of the pay, despite being a bard, she was extremely shy and would often attract attention from both male and female Vogal. Because of this, she felt as if she would be as overwhelmed with the amount of Vogal would ask to sleep with her, though despite all these things, she decided to attend anyway and also took out a beautiful outfit that her mother gave to her. In addition to her dancing and singing, she was also very skilled in flying and what would normally be several days of traveling, would only take her a couple.
So Virinn packed what she was going to take and set off quickly, and doing one last dance for her local tavern. It indeed only took her a couple days to reach the lower part of the mountain in a rather large village, who also seemed to be preparing for the event. As she arrived, she was greeted with a large crowd. She was extremely flustered with the amount of people wanting a “private performance” though one beautiful female in particular caught her attention, after conversing for several minutes with the crowd, she took this particular female to the local tavern where they both shared several drinks and eventually a room. After this encounter, the two began to be in a relationship, and as the next few days came by, the day of the event finally happened and the two went together.
Before Virinn’s performance, her new partner stayed behind to find some friend, though the turn of her performance came quickly. Though extremely nervous, she tried to give herself some courage as she changed into the clothes her mother gave her, and after that, went out onto the beautiful stage. High above the seats, there was a balcony where a small group of three nobles were watching, and trying not to mess up her song and dance, she tried her hardest, even though it would be her longest yet, this also marked the end of the event for the day and at the end of it, was extremely exhausted. Just as Virinn was about to leave to change, the group of nobles approached her, and the three were larger than she was, only being 5’6 and them being 5’11. As many of her audience do after her performance, they attempted to seduce her in taking her back to their noble house, however she declined being nearly drained of all her energy, in addition to not wanting to insult her new love, so she left the three and left in a hurry.
However this proved to be a large mistake. After the denial, the three nobles had gone to a well known band of assassins, who were then hired to harm and bring Virinn back to their home. The same night, while Virinn was about to change into her night clothing, she was then attacked by the group of assassins, though even the strong fighter she was, she was easily overtaken by many stab wounds. These wounds were made by daggers with magical abilities which made the wounds be untreatable by magic. After the attack, she was taken to the group of nobles where they proceed to have their own way with her, tearing apart her beautiful attire and replacing it with tattered cloth as they casted her off to a different world using a rare ability that a very small amount of nobles know, which is casting a wind portal to another dimension.
This is the end for part one. If there are even going to be more parts, and this is essentially the background for this character. Anyway, I thank you for those who read this short story, and have a good day.
