*checks watch* Oh, it must be punk fifteen in the morning... This is a really pretty punk outfit.
Thanks! I was actually inspired by an indie wrestler's ring gear. That one-legged pants thing particularly. Looks weird, but that's exactly the point. :D
Also, I expected you to reference this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AH7pOUm5s9k , but it's all good by my book. :D

'tis a sad tale indeed! A lot of it also depends on your definition of punk music itself. Richard Hell and the Voidoids or the Stooges aren't even considered true punk by some. Definitely carries a lot of the attitude to my ears though, particularly the former's Blank Generation. Then there are bands like the Stranglers that evolved to include so much technical prowess and pop sensibilities that they quickly defied any genre. I'm particularly fond of Hüsker Dü and the Misfits, myself. Often imitated never rivaled. Of course there's much more, but those were some of my own entry points and personal favourites. :D
There's much more out there than the Ramones and the Sex Pistols, obviously. I could talk about this shit forever.

Yeah, I'd define punk mainly by attitude. Chumbawamba for example, I'd consider punk even though, apart from their dabbling in alternative rock, they've recorded a fair amount of quite melodic folk music. It's all very subversive folk music, so that's alright.
We should probably take this to Skype, but I think bottom line is that I like my punk smart and witty. I'm fairly lyrics-oriented when listening to music, and when you ask for music with good lyrics, you seldom get punk music, which is a bit of a shame, as I know there's some really good turns of phrase in punk.

Well, Hüsker and the Stranglers have some of the most intellectual stuff in their lyrics. Also, we can't omit Patti Smith. Now that's punk as fuck!
Also, I thought for a moment that you said Chumbawamba were dabbing before it was cool. Dabbing, dabbling... it's close enough. :D
