I realize I've never done an Easter TF before - not that I love Easter any less than other holidays, but it just feels sort of tiresome coming up with a new Bunny TF every year.
This year though, I re-watched the old movie 'Easter Parade' with Fred Astaire, and I felt sort of inspired - mainly by a number called 'Stepping Out With My Baby,' and a moment where Fred suddenly starts dancing in slow-motion - but the dancers behind him are still at regular speed! It still beats me how they did that in 1948. Check it out here -

That's not slow motion, Fred's just that good.
Actually, it's most likely compositing or rear screen projection. Either they filmed the stage twice, once with Fred and once with the dancers and then composited the two shots together, or they're projecting the background dancers at double speed while filming Fred at normal speed and then playing it back slowed down.
