This was the second one I did (raptor was first) but I just did the collage first haha.
I repainted their miniature into a custom one that I will use in game play.

Ah, nah-- these are miniatures that I'll be using in game play. I dunno if you can see it, but there's a little circle hole in the base- it's for the game's 'u-base' which allows you to see the character's life (it shows through the hole and you adjust it when he loses life).
I will likely not bother to do base modifications other than painting what they're attached to (if necessary) for that reason. Even venturing to play with them in game is risky because they're just plastic- not very sturdy.

I prefer not to only because that gets handled a lot.
I might do that on minis I don't plan to play with (I am sure I will have favorites that I don't want to risk), but for now, they're utilitarianized ;)
These ones are larger than, say, warhammer miniatures (at least most of them are) but the bummer is they're plastic and sometimes not the strongest (for example one of the succubus figures is on one tiny spindly leg and when youopen her up she's often severely skewed to one side or the other because the plastic's bent) so painting these, if you don't want to lose texture, is a one-shot deal. x_x
Buh.
They're relatively cheap for the commons (starcitywow.com yay!) so if I do mess up bad I won't be hurting too badly but still. x_x; I'd like to get more practice in so I can tackle people (the hardest!).

That came out quite lovely, my friend- I can only really say there's two places for improvement... glosse is GREAT for durability, but it makes minis look absolutely horrible unless they're supposed to be shiny/covered in glass/crystal/ice. To 'fix' this, add one more layer of sealer to your mini- but use matte instead of gloss. The other, as I'm sure someone else has said by now, is flocking/static grass/cork for ground effects. you obviously have the hand control to make those stripes look lovely. :)
