AC 2002 - Fursuit Parade
After the group shots were taken, the parade continued on into other parts of the hotel, giving an opportunity to photograph a few more who were missed in the first part of the parade.
Taken with an old film camera, I had scanned the negatives way back in 2002; before FA was a thing, so these have never been posted up until now, as we come up on 15 years later.
At the time, my PC monitor was 800x600, so these pictures of around 900 pixels wide/tall, seemed rather large. I no longer have a negative scanner, so I'm unable to redo them at a larger size.
I always love seeing what these older fursuits looked like, and compare them to what we more typically see today.
Since these were from before FA came along, I'm not going to try to hunt down who the fursuiters are and if they have FA accounts, but if you happen to recognize anyone, please let us know in the comments. <3

yeah, i knew what furries were and was one in the 90s with the begginings of the internet as we know it today. When they signed my boss goes "This group has your name all over it! you're handling this." lol I loved the preconvention meetings between the con and hotel-Uncle Kage would ask "what staff member was not here last year?" and we'd laugh when they raised their hands. An eye opener for some....but the staff enjoyed it. Like another Halloween rolling around and everyone having fun. I miss having AC in my backyard ;)
Hah. I can only imagine how much fun that was, and seeing co-workers who had no clue as to what to expect.
My first AC was in Valley Forge in 1999, but being the July 4th weekend, I already had plans. So, I was only there for Friday night and Saturday morning, and didn't have a camera with me. I had no idea what to expect, and was only going to meet up with some online friends for the first time. :)
I do miss it being in Philly. There was a charm to the convention back then, which is no longer captured in a huge convention center.
