Spinosaurus aegyptiacus
Lots of wips over on my Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thenutkasecreates/
I'm a big supporter of the 2014 Ibrahim study of Spinosaurus which concluded that Spinosaurus was primarily aquatic, feeding on fish rather than herbivorous dinosaurs. It could also coexist with many other land based therapods as it wasn't in direct competition for resources.
It's a great study, well worth the read. But if you can't be bothered, there's a documentary named "Bigger than T.Rex" that covers as much as you need.
About the drawing itself: Based Spino's colours on the Eurasian kingfisher, that shares both similarities in habitat and diet. Also features some pterosaurs and coelacanths!

Spinosarus has such a fascinating history as well, I'll always have a tear shed for the specimen destroyed in what I recall to be world war 2 (don't quite me on that). And it's image over time has also changed dramatically, definitely one of my favorite Dino's! I find people rather dislike the new imaging of Spinosarus, but personally I I find this one as well to be quite charming in itself.
Spinosaurus is just so different compared to other therapods. I think the reason there's so much hate for the new discoveries is because it doesn't look as fearsome as it used to (same people who probably don't like feathers on dinos).
Unfortunately for them, science don't give a damn about what they like, haha!

Science doesn't give a damn about anyone or anyone opinion really xD And I personally just love the possibilities for color and extravagance feathers can give my favorite dino's. Why most of them look even more positively frightening with feathers! And Spinosaurus is such a giant (pun intended) lovable dork now, I couldn't imagine Spino any other way!
