#08/12 of my "monster zodiac" series, monstrous reimaginings of classical astrology signs.
Leo was a fun design to create, I wanted to keep a feline tone to reference the lion imagery but focus more on creating a monstrous "king of beasts" that was like am amalgamation of many creatures mixed together. In this coloring style I found some difficulty settling on colors that fell within the Leo color spectrum. The linework, which is many placed vectors, took forever but is always worth the effort.
