This was an excercise in my artclass where we had to pick a word and then draw its meaning. I chose Chimerical which means unstable or changing. And so I started to draw a transformation and it became a story.

El was a name feared among those who found themselves as travelers across the vast seas. A name that even the pirates themselve swore by, feared, and prayed to. A pirate of legendary accounts, said to have a beast of pure hatred that trod at his heels. Little did any of them know that El, their feared God of the sea, was a young girl really named Elfloria who fell asleep as a child in a pile of scrap cloths on the deck of a disguised pirate ship. Growing up, she learned the tricks of the trade and eventually fell offship to be found riding the waves in unconscious slumber. Pulled upon another ship, she awoke to a bloody carnage of death. All those on the ship had been visciously murdered before she awoke. Thinking that she herself did it in the form she grew up hiding from others, Elfloria shortened her name to El and found herself the victim of a pirate raid on the ship days after the sailor's death. The crew raised her, thinking her cursed, but too afraid to kill her after seeing her first change into the beautiful beast she cherished. Rumors spread of the death of the sailor's and the beast that roamed that ship for years until many of the crew had died and El herself, having flourished and grown throughout the years of marauding, now commanded the ship.
