This 'dragon' has been hand sculpted with a naturally deceased raccoon skull as the base using polymer clay (cured in layers using a heat gun.) Detailed crocodilian scales cover the skull and an assortment of horns - from a large sweeping pair to small knobby ones - add an air of nobility. I also sculpted in some extra anatomy that no raccoon skull has, along with a jutting spiraled horn on the chin. All sculpting done by hand, including the small scale details.

I played around with the teeth a lot here, swapping out upper canines and incisors for mink and opossum teeth while adding a pair of lower redtail boa jaws along the roof of the mouth to lend a more reptilian look, much like the extra teeth seen on a mosasaur. The teeth were given a light black stain and a glossy finish.

The skull has been painted with my homemade metallics in deep, rich copper with shadings of bronze, chocolate, black and highlights of burnished gold that catch the light. A bright green glass stone with a high polish completes the look, and a generous 24 inch chain with latch clasp is drilled into the back of the skull so you can wear it as a big chunky attention-grabbing pendant!

The skull is a little over 6 inches long from horn tip to the end of his chin. This piece can be a stand-alone sculpture or be worn with any suitable cosplay.
