Bakery Kitchen… 7:52 pm…
Light was in shock, “Why so much, I know we eat mainly pastries for our meals but this is insane.”
Duli didn't really care, he smiled, “Who cares, it's dinner.”
Light grabbed his shoulder, “Wait, what about the diet.”
Duli patted his paw, “Like I said, after the festival.”
Light sighed, “Well, since my brother make all this food, let's dig in.”
Following Chris…
Chris lied a bench in Malie City Park. The starry sky glistened above him as he sighed, “It's such a beautiful night out, I wish this could last forever.” He hopped off the bench, “I should go check and see if Light is home and I if he ate dinner.”
Back to Light and Duli...
Duli patted his rumbling, beach all stomach. He let out a belch and said, “Your brother is a culinary genius.”
Light lied flat on his back, his gut gurgling and groaning, “I absolutely agree.”
Chris chuckled, “I see someone got into the dinner without me.”
Light looked around his stomach, “Oh, uh, hey Chris. I just saw some food and got hungry.”
Chris nodded, “So you did. Who's your friend over here.”
Light began to sweat, “Um that's, um my, um, stuffing partner, Duli.”
Duli jerked his head towards him and mouthed, “We are what?”
Chris turned around and smiled, “Well Duli, “ Chris extended his paw, “Any friend of my brother's is a friend of mine.
Duli grabbed his paw and was hoisted up. He put his paw on his bloated stomach, “Thanks, uh.”
Chris smiled, “The name is Chris.”
Duli nodded, “Great to meet you Chris.”
Chris nodded back, “Likewise.”
Light chuckled nervously, “There is still a lot of pastries left, so let's dig in.”
Another hour later...
Light was flat on his back again, “That was so much food, I don't want to move.”
Duli sat against a wall, “Same here, but it was so delicious.”
Light nodded, “Absolutely.”
Chris was on his side, “Well thanks, now we should probably get some sleep. Duli, If you need a place to stay for the night, you can stay in Light’s room since he has a spare bed.”
Duli smiled, “Thank you Chris.”
Chris slowly stood up and helped him up, “No problem. It's the first door on your left after entering the living room.”
Duli nodded, “Got.”
Chris watched Duli slowly stumble his way up the stairs and walked over to Light. He helped him up, “You didn't have to lie to me about getting a weight loss trainer.”
Light was shocked, he looked down at his gut, “I just wanted to lose some of this weight, it's just constantly getting in the way, and I want to continue to be a cashier here.”
Chris nuzzled his brothers flabby gut, “You can still work, it doesn't bother me, plus the little kids love to hug your belly, and furthermore, you looked happy stuffing yourself, even Duli enjoyed it.”
Light sighed, “Maybe you're right, plus as long as I can work by your side, I'll probably do this more.”
Chris smiled, “That's the Light I know and love. Now let's get to bed, we have two more days of the festival to do.”
Light patted his enlarged gut, “And more food to eat.”
Chris chuckled, “Of course.”
Light let out a long yawn, “I think it's time to hit the hay for the night.”
Chris nodded, “Agreed.”
The next morning… June 10, 2016... 10:38 am…
Duli rubbed his eyes and looked at the clock. He chuckled, “Wow, 10:30, I've never woken up this late before. There's a first for everything.” He got up and noticed his new pot belly he obtained last night. His toned abs was now a pot belly, and his once muscular arms and legs now had a small layer of flab. His face now was not chiseled, but had a softness to it with his double chin and puffy cheeks. He smiled, “This stuff actually feels pretty good, I could get used to this.”
He entered the upstairs kitchen and saw a note on the fridge. He read aloud:
Dear Duli,
Light and I are downstairs working right now. Feel free to come downstairs and enjoy the day old rack of treats. We always eat a portion of them when any unsold pastries are left, so feel free to eat as much as you like.
From,
Chris and Light
He smiled, “You two are so nice.” He made his way down stairs and saw Chris cooking and smiled, “Morning Chris, how's business?”
Chris pulled out a tray of cookies and tossed him one, “As usual, packed beyond belief.”
Duli shoved the cookie in his mouth and leaned against the wall, “So where is Light.”
Chris set the cookies onto a rack, “He’s the cashier.”
Duli tilted his head, “Don't you have other employees?”
Chris shook his head, “Nope, we work alone.”
Duli grabbed a few cookies from the one day old rack, “You two are pretty amazing.”
Chris blushed a bit, “Thanks.”
Duli smiled, “No problem, need any help?”
Chris nodded, “Yea, I could use your help stirring and pouring batter.”
Duli nodded back, “You've got it.”
Closing time… 7:13 pm…
Duli sat at a booth munching on a plate of cookies as Chris and Light discuss business. Duli chuckled, “You two need to take a break and eat, it's the festival, of course things are going to be nuts. Stress ain't the best, so eat and take a break.”
Light sighed, “You're right Duli, I'll get some food for us.”
Chris nodded, “You do that, I'm going into town to buy more ingredients.”
Duli looked at the two, “I guess I'll sit here and keep my seat warm.”
Light laughed, “You're like Chris, always trying to be funny.”
Chris turned around, “Hey! I'm not trying to be funny, I am funny.”
Light chuckled, “You keep telling yourself that.”
Duli covered his mouth, “Ooooh, you just got roasted.”
Chris rolled his eyes, “Ha ha, very funny. I'll be back in an hour or so.”
Light smiled, “Alright, I'll have your dinner set up.”
1 and a half hours later… 8:57 pm…
Light let out a large burp as his stomach pressed against the booth’s table. He smiled, “I love doing this.”
Duli frowned, “I guess my service is no longer needed?”
Light looked at him, “Sadly yes, but, Chris is smart and he figured out that I wanted to lose weight. I bet he's fine with stay for your allotted time.”
Duli smiled, “Really, you think so.”
Light nodded, “Absolutely, plus, we got plenty of desserts to go around.”
Duli reached across the table and hugged Light the best he could, “Thank you Light.”
Light blushed, “It's nothing, but I'm getting tired, let's get to bed.” Duli shoved a slice of chocolate cake in his mouth and nodded.
