This is my part of a trade with redfoxr of his character Agate. I really wanted to do more black and white works (partially because I'm sick of fully rendering a scene all the time) and he was really nice in giving me permission to try some stuff on this picture. Thank you, dude!
I really loved doing this, especially the tree and bushes, trying to give them a textured feel by using only hatching was really nice. And doing the big wings in a relaxed position was also really nice. The character overall was amazing to draw, the only setback I had was trying to come up with a pose that'd accommodate their longer-than-normal arms.
In regards to the shading I had some trouble with the rocks and water ripples. I'll have to make some research and studies to see how to do them better next time with hatching whenever I do something like this again.
Overall, this was a great picture and I loved working on it!
