Depends on your local market, here i'd say 5 grand gets you a good body with decent running condition, 8-10 is excellent condition both structural and mechanical as well as interior wise.
I stopped at 87 because of the local emissions laws and I dont want to have to bother with getting my car e-tested. You could go right up to 91 depending on your local laws, even get a 350 TPI which was good for 245 HP stock.

I very, very briefly owned a 2 door matador, nothing hot but it was painted nice, until I was forced to get it off the lawn. It also didn't really have floors, I'd gotten it as a graduation gift for $300, and sold it for about half. ahaha, but, I've still got my 72 Maverick. Also I'm 23. Old cars are it, man
That's cool. It's a little worn from being an 81, it's got that landau roof on it. It runs, but it rides down the road a little wonky and loose.
Just needs overhauled top to bottom, to be perfect again, but overall it's in real good shape.
