Also from my demon narrative, this is Luc’s uncle, Alabast, king of the frozen wastes at the lowest level of the demonic realms. His older brother, in a fit of rage, thinking Alabast was trying to usurp his throne, tore off his wings and cast him out. Now Alabast plots his escape from his desolate kingdom as his heart grows ever colder. Perhaps when Luc and his group arrive, they will find a way to help him, or find themselves hopelessly lost in an endless desert of snow and ice…

Wrote myself into my story. :P Well, physically he is mostly me, our personalities are pretty different... then again I've never been forced into isolation for hundreds of years in a frozen hellscape!

Thank you Let! He is meant to be a sympathetic character, once his backstory comes to light. In fact he was quite happy with his brother becoming the high-ruling king. Alabast was once a very easygoing, funloving fellow (for a demon!) who didn't use to take his role too seriously. That was before his brother gained absolute rule over the demon realms, before the fight between the two of them that cost him his wings, and his life as he knew it.
A frozen land at the bottom of Hell ? is it a reference to the Divine Comedy that I am spotting ? Anyway, this guy has a really nice character design, and his attire looks pretty warm and comfy for an ice demon, with all this fluff (and by the way I love how you have drawn his hair and fur, this fuzzy beard looks especially handsome). It makes a pleasant contrast with the ice protrusions that sprout from his body, such as the beautiful pair of frozen horns he sports (the tiny icicles are a really amusing addition, and I love the ice ring that he put in his ear ; it would be rad if he had other body adornments in the same style, like ice nipple piercings). I am also really fond of the way you drew his hands ; I don't know how to put it but there is something about his claws that I find really titillating...
Haha, I suspect you are! Dante certainly provides a handy template. ;) Alabast does have a heavy jacket, but remember, he didn't start out as an ice demon. In fact he hates the cold, but is cursed to never be able to feel warmth. Sometimes, fleetingly, he remembers, but then it is gone again. :( Thank you very much for the attention to details! I had a fun time creating him (after several failed head sketches) and ended up very pleased with his final design!
Wow, this is a pretty dark backstory (not that I mind of course, that's probably one of the most creative and malign curses that I have ever read about). I would like to give this guy a big hug, but he probably wouldn't feel anything... Make you wonder who is actually the coldest of the two brothers. I would be curious to know what kind of relationship Luc will have with his uncle. And yeah, this poem is probably - why am I even using "probably" ? - one of the most fascinating depiction of an infernal landscape ever made. It is such an amazing way to feed your imagination.
In fact a hug from some new arrival would give him a moment's joy in feeling the warmth from another, but it usually doesn't last. Certain things, tied to strong memories help him to remember who he used to be so long ago. Luc has an almost comically optimistic view of people, well, certain people, and tries whatever he can to help them if he believes they deserve it. Alabast is not happy to see his nephew initially, due to who his father and brother are, but pretends to be a caring uncle while he sets his trap for the group.
Later, it's actually Nobuo my tengu and Alabast's interactions that begins to make him feel alive again. Maybe a fledgling love can melt through all that ice?
