Gorgeous, but...he might consider getting a smaller undershirt(I think that's what the proper name of that is, the only other name I have for it is a "beater")...it looks a little loose. But then, we wouldn't be able to see the chest so well...catch 22. Then again, a skin tight undershirt on a big guy like him...would not leave me disappointed.

Gritty, tense action scene! The little details clinch it: the faint light off the edges of the broken glass bottles, the glint off the gold arm band and the sword...and that chest hair. AND that conspicous bulge in his jeans! But that's just a spare gun...RIGHTTTT???

Very, very beautiful piece of work!

I'm gonna critique this if you don't mind! The background appears to be disproportioned. The bottles in the foreground aren't very convincing . . . it seems like the guy in the alleyway is a large photograph that someone placed bottles in front of, rather than the bottles being part of the alleyway. I also don't get the feeling that the ground is level . . . I get the sense that the trash can and the trash bag are either hovering a bit off the ground, or the ground is sloping slightly down toward us. And the wall appears to be curving . . . and to make sure it wasn't just me I lined up a pencil with the bottom of the wall and it's not straight.

While critique is fine, it is perhaps unhelpful to critique a piece from six years ago. None of the things you have said are wrong, but they are also errors made half a decade ago. I've had a long time to adjust techniques by now.

I do know that it's an old image but I still felt compelled to write up a little constructive criticism. Honestly I did this for my own benefit as much as I wanted to do it for yours since I'm taking an art class as an elective where oral critiques are required and it's very helpful to spot these things. And I remember you running that Hurt Me group, so you're pretty much the only artist around here who I'm confident won't bite my head off for doing this and I promise it won't be often at all.

Hah, well I certainly try not to make a habit of biting people's heads off. They get stuck in my teeth.
