nice art! A friend told me ounce as a registered Indian with a tribe I could sell hand crafted stuff as authentic native made. Don't really have much of a interest in that. But a extra buck cant hurt. Would you say that is true? I don't know. But I think you have exposure native ways. In any case I guess all I can say is I am a "lost bird".
Your friend is correct. If you are an enrolled member of a federally recognized tribe, you can legally market your work as authentic native made. Be sure to have your CDIB or tribal I.D. on hand in case authenticity is ever called into question. The Indian Arts and Crafts Act of 1990 (P.L. 101-644) was enacted to protect cultural/intellectual rights of the artists and to cut down on counterfeiting and appropriation, and to ensure truth in advertising.
