Numero Uno cartoon baddass = Shere Khan, Talespin version. :)
I too have been watching that great show again, thanks to my friend who has several VHS tapes chock full of Saturday morning shows that had it on.
Brilliant stuff and a wonderful rendition of a classic character... And this picture also makes a fitting tribute to the wonderful voice talent who's deep and perfectly pitched tones completed Shere Khan's menacing presence; Tony Jay who died a few weeks ago.

I remember when I was watching this on the Toshiba 27" in the living room back in my family's first house back on Gridley Road. Ah, the memories.
Nice lighting effects.
(Magtapes...never bothered. They have rather limited time between rewritings in my family, with the exception of the ancient one from my first birthday.)

One of my very favorite characters!!! This is one of the BEST pieces of Shere Khan fan art I've ever seen...and in his business suit from TALE SPIN, one of the greatest cartoons EVER!!
It's a shame that voice actor Tony Jay is no longer with us. To me, he WAS Khan. Even now, when I think of Khan, I think of him more than George Sanders.
Once again, OUTSTANDING job.
By thy side,
Figaro
