The Aerial Warrior Beast Greydos was first introduced on Ep.36 of the Great Mazinger series - the same episode of the series to introduced the Great Marshall of Hell, Dr. Hell reborn as the new Mikene Commander to replaced the late Great General of Darkness. He was anthropomorphic in aspect, with human arms but with bird's head, legs with sharp talons in his feet, his only weapons were missile launchers on the front end of the Boosters in his back and his tail feathers were sharp blades he could launch at an enemy, his real face was on the Chest.

Greydos proved to be a powerful opponent against Great in their first encounter but ran off before Great could destroyed him with Thunder blast - during the fight, a small girl, Kaori, playing with her dog in the beach took cover through the bombardment, but her pet died from shrapnel debris, and this becomes the lead plot of the episode (Honestly, this episode is one I would considered one of the worst of the series because seeing the kid blames HIM for what had happened kinna traumatizes Tetsuya, who tries to amend his mistake, when the bombs that killed the dog CAME FROM GREYDOS). I would have to say that comparing the shows, Z had a better handling of the concept of the hero dealing with causalities it made in its fights and people turning on Koji for it, than Great did. They should had allow Go Nagai to keep the original idea of maintaining the stories with Koji as lead. I can finally get why Tetsuya hasn't been the main character of focus since Go Nagai took the full rights (i.e. Mazinkaiser, Shin Mazinger Zero and Shin Mazinger Z).

...anyway....

Later, Greydos fought Venus and Borot (because Tetsuya regrets put him in no mood to fight) and of course makes a number out of the two. When Great finally goes into action Tetsuya was still ineffectual in fight, do to his actions, which were caused by the damn bird. When Kaori finally forgives Tetsuya, it allows him to bolster his moral by a factor of 10 and took on Greydos with his confidence restored. Tetsuya rips it's right Booster with a Rocket Punch, then cutting said booster with the Great Boomerang, causing Greydos to fall. Great then cuts it's left leg with a blade kick and finally finishes him with knee-needle kick, stabbing Greydos in it's human face, making it explode.
