The pilot always sits in the left seat. This is a historical hold over from the dawn of aviation. It has to do with the way rotary engines and props swun in early airplanes. gIts also why most airport landing circuits are counter-clockwise (left turns) so the pilot can keep the 'port in site as he transitions from crosswind leg, downwind leg, base leg and final approach.

I could go on about radial vs rotary vs opposed engines and the direction of the propeller and the p-factor but it's beyond the point of the comic. If you really want to know more there's plenty of resources out there. Better yet, find a local airport and ask a pilot to take you up for an introductory lesson. It just might change your life.
LOL. I haven't seen any of your art, as far as I know; but, I'll check it out. Over on DA, I've got a couple of a/c artists on my watch list because they do such fantastic jobs with their a/c. One, in particular, does fantasy type a/c, including sci-fi craft as a/c with different real and fantasy air forces.
