If she's taking lessons shouldn't she be in the left seat though?

Not sure about such small planes.. yet most things bigger then that have dual controlers set for pilot/co-pilot crew..

The pilot normally sits on the left. If you're taking lessons you sit on the left and the instructor is on the right.

I think you're right. I'd have to ask one of my pilot friends to be certain but, I do believe in ALL a/c, the pilot sits in the right seat despite what's shown in the movies and TV shows.

The pilot always sits in the left seat. This is a historical hold over from the dawn of aviation. It has to do with the way rotary engines and props swun in early airplanes. gIts also why most airport landing circuits are counter-clockwise (left turns) so the pilot can keep the 'port in site as he transitions from crosswind leg, downwind leg, base leg and final approach.

But that in no way changes the funniness of the gag.

Okay. I guess I misunderstood. I didn't know about rotary engines in the first a/c. They rotated clockwise, didn't they? Anyway, you're right though. It's still a very funny gag. I think it would have been funnier if it was Wolf, though. LOL.

I could go on about radial vs rotary vs opposed engines and the direction of the propeller and the p-factor but it's beyond the point of the comic. If you really want to know more there's plenty of resources out there. Better yet, find a local airport and ask a pilot to take you up for an introductory lesson. It just might change your life.

Once again you impress me with your eye for detail. That's a great representation of a Cessna 172. I also couldn't help but chuckle when I saw "Amber" enjoying getting her face out into the slipstream.

I thought that was a 172. Jan wasn't certain when I asked on Patreon. I'm glad to know I was correct.

Most folks who are familiar with my art know I'm a big fan of aircraft as well as steam technology. The Cessna 172 holds a special place in my head as it's one of the few balsa wood "Stick and paper" models I've ever built and it flew.

LOL. I haven't seen any of your art, as far as I know; but, I'll check it out. Over on DA, I've got a couple of a/c artists on my watch list because they do such fantastic jobs with their a/c. One, in particular, does fantasy type a/c, including sci-fi craft as a/c with different real and fantasy air forces.
