While I was moving things about in the office, the resident "House Panther" Charley set up this charming pose. Perhaps he is "Hunting" his favorite prey", the ever elusive Dust Bunny?

Of the two "House Panthers," Charley is the most laid back and gentler cat as compared to his brother. "Sammy" is destructive, yowls at any given time, and likes to claw on the door at like 3:30 in the morning, or whenever his urges for food or attention strike him.
I'm not sure if they're from there, but I know that's the breed.
My old boyfriend had one who looked a lot like yours. She was super sweet, loved to be near, if not on people.
I remember one time she decided my rear was a good place to lay down, I guess she figured "well you're not using it"

It's always been a mystery to me why cats love boxes, Many years ago I found my big, 14 pound Siamese mixed breed "Snuffy" sitting contentedly with his front paws in a match box. From what I've read the cats have a "Denning" Instinct, and being in a place where they can feel a wall against their sides or back, it makes them feel secure.
Looks like my Sebastian. He was a big boned 15 pounds. More timid than most cats, but was very sweet and attention seeking. He lived January 5 1992 to December 5 2011 (was either a brain tumor or a stroke) and just a couple of hours after I buried him, that winter's first snow fell
Awwww... What a touching story about a sweet cat. I really can't think of any way to express my feelings towards your loss at this time, but I was reminded of a Gardening book called "Tigger's Apples" where a family lost their big cat "Tigger" and buried his remains under an apple tree. The next Spring the tree produced an abundance of apples. Kind of a last "Gift" from the deceased cat.
