Only a few days after I photographed the bowling alley it burned to the ground. It was claimed it was started by hobos trying to keep warm, but the fire engulfed the entire building so thoroughly that its caused a lot of suspicion. And locals have already taken to calling it the Capano fire, after the prominent local developers that own the property.
This shows just how hot the fire was. The steel beams that supported the ceiling were weakened so badly the whole thing collapsed. Towards the center the roof is at ground level now. The foam walls also went quickly, and now almost nothing is left of them.

Ach, that's a real shame - some renovation work could have made that alley a very nice place for recreation. We had a similar incident a few years ago, when the local swimming pool was burned to the ground in an intense fire. I suppose some local thugs weren't satisfied with igniting the hills. :/
