Acording to the plushies, the slugcat is about 9.5 inches tall.

However, there is still the danger of it throwing spears (altough it would take half a dozen of them to wound someting twice their size) or raiding your refrigerator.
Overeating would also be a big danger for the slugcat, altough this is imposible in the game.
