I Love Music! #3: The New Intro/Redesigning Expectations
Yes, it's back, and it will be known now and forever as I Love Music!!
Listen to me make sweeping statements that I will no doubt end up contradicting in the future! Marvel as I imitate death metal vocals! Wonder as I totally miss the debut of 21st Century Breakdown! I speak French! I attempt speaking Finnish and give away potentially compromising information! I compare the "best album in my collection" to Cheetos! I move toward and away from the mic so that the volume is constantly changing! What fun!
I say "fuck" a coupla times, too. :V
Note to self: Do not fucking eat while recording, you goddamn fatkid! But seriously, the Cheetos thing is the funniest thing I've ever said. Every time I hear it, I'm rolling.
Still working kinks out, of course, but I'm getting the hang of everything. :D And you know how I said I wanted these to be 10 minutes each? Well, this one's over 11, so the quality's even worse than normal. :| Not sure how that happened, but it's obvious I can't go over 13-13.5 minutes of raw material if I want to hit that 10-minute mark.

<chuckle> I'm also a Renaissance Man! I chew gum and walk at the same time. I've even been known to knock back vast handfuls of Cheetos and then, with only a night's rest, launch into bagels (or even cereal) for brekkers!
Seriously, 'grats. I worked in radio during my college years, and you have a clear gift for gab!

I first heard Sigur Rós a couple months ago. They are pretty amazing. I see my b/f has Röyksopp, so now I'm gonna have to check them out :). Today's suggestion of someone you have to hear is someone I'm really into right now, Lindstrøm. If you wanna pick one, go for "Where You Go I Go Too". He's from Norway. A mix of Electronic, disco, dance. "Where You Go I Go Too" is a 27min piece (I know, songs that are too long give me the creeps sometimes), but this is an amazing piece. It has a long intro, a great middle, it wonders off into left field somewhere, then works its way back seamlessly. Most of his pieces aren't that long, but that's the first of his I'd heard and I immediately fell in love with him. It's a great album to have in the car on a road trip for sure. Albums I'd give a perfect 10...well, there is at least 1. Radiohead's "OK Computer" is brilliant and perfect in my opinion :)
