This is probably the most bad ass photo of Ceyla ever taken. It was done by the talented photographer at the photobooth at FE2017. You can see more of their work at dragonscales.com
Anyhow!
This convention was a bit of a hectic one for me because I have an almost-full-time night job now that I had to attend both Thursday and Sunday night, which made my sleeping a bit weird. While Ceyla's outfit looks the same as last time I had photos taken, there is one significant difference: I've removed the annoying tiny magnets that were previously holding her armor on and replaced them with big fat honking magnets. I can literally just throw my armor into place now a-la captain America's shield. It cuts about ten minutes out of the time it takes to get suited up and makes the armor plates much less likely to fall off and much easier to replace should they do so. I was really happy with how that turned out.
The convention was a lot of fun, I got to meet a lot of new and old friends and got about 12 hours of Ceyla time between Friday and saturday in 3 hour sessions. As usual Ceyla was the star everywhere she went (And I NEVER get tired of it > > Sue me.) I'm finding it a lot less taxing to do a couple of 3 hour sessions in costume rather than one long one. I used to feel bad that I couldn't spend as long in costume as other people seem to but I sort of came to realise that it might be unfair to compare her to other situations. I normally reserve Sunday for my T-shirt dragon day but I had to pack up my room pretty quickly to get ready for work that night.
I met a lot of really nice people and I'm excited to talk with them more. I also made contacts with a few artisans who may be working on new props for Ceyla in the future.
I also got some really neat art done of Ceyla, which reminds me I should scan some and post them... I'll try to tackle that tomorrow.
Thanks beastcub, being Ceyla makes the rest of the year worth living <3
