One of the Warriors Beasts of the Mikene Empire, Mammothdon, was an ancient Giant Cyborg whose real human face was located at the mouth of the Monster.

Mammothdon first appeared in the 1974 ova Mazinger Z vs The Great General of Darkness as one of the Six Mikene Beast Warriors to attack Tokyo. He returned again, for a brief moment in the revamp OVA of the 2000s. This story is a remake of the finale of Mazinger Z. Despite the Triceratops aspect on its head, Mammothdon is a Mammalian Type Beast Warrior with body of an Rhino with 3 horns, the largest one as its only attack weapon. Mammothdon charges towards any objective and rams it, the large horn causing the most damage.

In the 1974 OVA, new types of Mechanical Monsters attack some of the major capitols in the world; these are led by the Archduke Gorgon, taking the opportunity to attack the world, following the demise of Dr. Hell and his army.

Archduke Gorgon orders a team of six to proceed to destroy Tokyo; the team is composed of Dante (A Spectrum Type Beats with a sharp Halo as his weapon), Birdian (an Aerial Type Beast), Raigon (an Insect Type Beast) Saraga (a Reptilian Cobra Beast), Slava (an Aquatic Beast) and Mammothdon, representing the Mammalian Beast faction of the army. Surprisingly, this was the first attack on a major world Capitol involving a team of Beasts, as the previous attacks on the other major cities involve only one Beast Warrior for each city. Likely Gorgon, foreseen the unavoidable fight with the Mazinger Team, he sent the toughest and personal favorites of the Dark General.

Of the attack group, only Mammothdon and Dante survive as they were ordered to attack the Photon Lab while the other four (Sagara, Birdian, Raigon and Slava) fell to a battle damaged Mazinger Z. During the attack on the Photon Lab, is Mammothdon who takes out Boss Borot and nearly killed Shiro, while Dante destroyed Diana A, before the two of them return back to the Mikene Empire.

Anger by the lost of four of his favorites, and the fact he was defied, the General orders General Juuma to sent the best of the army to Destroy Mazinger Z; Juuma takes Mammothdon, Dante and Eight other Beasts to kill Mazinger Z.

Knowing of another beast group strike, Koji (still daze from a blood transfusion to save his younger brother Shiro) takes a still need of repair Mazinger Z. In a twist of fate, the first of the Revenge Team to strike is Mammothdon, the beast responsible for nearly killing Shiro. Koji blast Mazinger's Breast of Fire attack on Mammothdon human face, killing him immediately before taking off to confront Juuma and the others, and meeting Great Mazinger.

He appears in the Go Nagai Robot Family video and returns in the Revamp Ova MazinKaizer vs The Great Dark General Deathmatch, looking more robotic and slicker than his 1974 counterpart - arriving under the command of Mammalian Beast General Ligern with 2 other Beasts to finish off Koji, but they are all rapidly destroy in a missile Barrage, unleashed by Prof. Mori Mori, which kills him and General Lingern and his monsters, but helps Koji and Sayaka escape on a Jet. He also appeared in the Mazinger Zero Manga.
